Harlington Hospice Counselling and Bereavement Therapy

Harlington Hospice offers bereavement counselling to children and young people aged 4–17 years old. The service is available to under 18’s who have experienced a bereavement or have someone close to them with a life-limiting illness.

The service addresses the social and emotional needs of bereaved children, helping them through the grieving process whilst; nurturing positive relationships, fostering resilience, self-esteem and emotional well-being.

The following support is offered:

  • Individual counselling, rooted in Integrative Creative Arts Therapies               ​​​​​
  • Therapeutic group work                                                      
  • Short-term Family Therapy 

The expectation for children is not for them to sit and talk for hours and hours, or to feel uncomfortable when they don’t know how to explain themselves or what to say.  The therapeutic intervention Harlington Hospice offer are through a range of media, e.g. painting, drawing, play and sand therapy.

This service accepts referrals from schools, healthcare professionals, parents and carers. Young people aged 16 and over can self-refer, please see the referral form here.   For more information, call 0300 365 3300.
