Forest School
At Cranford Park, we are proud to offer Forest School as part of our EYFS curriculum. Forest School is an outdoor approach to learning, where children are given opportunities to develop their self-esteem, confidence and independence through exploring the outdoors. Forest school helps children develop many skills that are hard to teach in the classroom.
Each week, children learn to cultivate their independence and resilience in our on-site Woodland Area by managing their own risks whilst partaking in lots of physical activities that develop both fine and gross motor skills. Through hands-on experiences, children are given the time and the space to make their own choices and take responsibilities for their own learning.
In being given the opportunity to direct their own learning, within an outdoor environment, we have noticed that Forest School has helped children at Cranford Park to improve their self-esteem as well as their personal, social and language skills.
